MOD (Manufacture on Demand)

What are MOD discs? MOD stands for Manufactured on Demand. Many big studios have begun releasing titles on MOD format which can either be on a pressed replication format or a burned format. Using a burned MOD format works great for my current business model which is very much small-scale and low volume runs. Having a pressed format run of a title can be very costly and usually there's a minimum of 1000 titles which would take many years to sell. Or possibly, never. Bottom line, this is the only way I can function and is necessary to keep putting out titles like Botanica 3D. Don't be afraid of burned media. If it hasn't failed in 30 days, it's probably not going to fail. However, i would encourage you to open your purchace and check it out and make sure everything is fully functional. But if you miss the 30-day return window on eBay, you're still covered!

IMPORTANT! It appears that the 3D-ONLY disc is NOT compatible with Playstation 4 for some reason. I have not checked on Xbox systems as I do not have one to test on (some have reported the 3D disc is playable on Xbox One). I have tested on Playstation 3 and it plays fine. The 2D disc plays fine on the PS4. This is a different 3D type disc than officilal Blu ray 3D, but it is full 3D framepacking and should play fine in most 3D players. The new Playstation 5 does not support 3D discs at all at this time.

Disc Information

The 3D disc of Botanica is created with Cyberlink software and differs slighly than the offical Blu ray 3D spec. The discs should function on any stand-alone 3D player and the Playstation 3. They may not be usable on other devices if you plan on using ripping software as they won't detect that it is a 3D disc. The discs are full frame-packing 3D encoded at 28 mbps. The resulting averge bitrate is 25mbps on Botanica 3D. There are no Blu ray or Blu ray 3D logos on these discs for licensing reasons as they are BD-R discs and also the technical encoding differences for the 3D Blu ray discs.

Burning method is a 4x speed burn on 6x media. On each disc is a unique 7-digit serial number and a print number. Orders are filled by next available print number in the order they are received. The serial number is for warranty use and should not be made public. There is a 1 year warranty on discs. More info on the warranty page.

Returns

If you are still in the 30 day return window, please use the eBay return and you can opt for a replacement or a refund. You're choice. If you are beyond the 30 day window you are still covered with manufacture warranty, just not returns. I think 30 days is sufficent to decide whether you are happy with your purchase. Thank you for your understanding.

For technical issues and replacements, beyond 30-day eBay return policy please send messages thru eBay communications.

Please see the warranty page for more information.
